no strings attached…

1. Go even deeper by offering your suffering to God “with no strings attached”. Maybe He wants to use what you offer to help your needs, or…maybe He wants to use your offering to help others. He still uses your suffering as part of your essential purification process, but the immediate needs of others might be even greater than yours. The person in need could be an acquaintance, loved one, complete stranger, fellow citizen, or someone in a remote part of the world.

God exists outside of time and sees all of time at once. Many people have no one to pray and offer sacrifices for them – now or in the future. Maybe only the gift of your suffering can help that person right now - in their illness, torture, an accident, or even during important discourse.

A kidnapped Nigerian priest recently gave thanks after his release because so many people were praying and offering sacrifices for him. His amazing story is worth a quick read, and who knows what might have happened to him without those gifts from others?

2. Go deeper still by offering your sacrifice for someone’s soul – or simply let Our Lord decide if He might use it that way when you offer your suffering “with no strings attached”. Our Lady repeatedly told the three children at Fatima to offer themselves for sinners after showing them the vision of hell and telling them that people are there - and others go to hell - because they have no one to pray and offer sacrifice for them to repent and change their lives – at least repent before death ( Lk 23:39-43).

After death, we each have only heaven or hell as our eternal destiny, but heaven is NOT guaranteed just because a person has been a “believer” or “nice” to others or based upon what other people think of him.
