what not to forget…

Kildare White Abbey Apse Window Saint Simon Stock Receives the Brown Scapular 2013 09 04
When suffering or problems of any size come along, we certainly try to solve them and end or reduce the pain. We’re still suffering, though, and unavoidable suffering is a struggle against some form of evil or weakness caused by sin – our own, the sins of others, or Original Sin. The latter is even the “original” reason for life’s imperfections, our own weaknesses and diseases, and the separation of the soul and earthly body at death.

Our own sin – past or present – can also be part of the cause for suffering. If so, then like the Prodigal Son (Lk 15:11-32), we must seek the Sacrament of Reconciliation. A full and honest Reconciliation provides tremendous graces that can help heal and strengthen body, mind, and soul in many ways. If your sins are mortal, seek Reconciliation as soon as possible where the Divine Physician is waiting for you.
