After the vision of hell, Lucia, Francesco, and Jacinta chose
specific ways to offer avoidable sufferings for the sake of
sinners, as Our Lady had first asked of them in May, 1917.
These children willingly gave their meager lunches and mid-day drinking water to poor passers-by, even though these children worked in the hot sun all day. They then offered their hunger and thirst as a sacrifice for sinners.
