The apparitions of Our Lady (of the Rosary) at Fatima in 1917 are even more
important today. Many good websites share the narrative of events for the
1916 apparitions of the Angel of Peace
to the three children.
These apparitions prepared them for all of Our Lady’s apparitions in 1917,
beginning in May.
It was nice to celebrate a centenary to remember the past, but
what, if anything, do these apparitions mean for us today?
We celebrated the centenary, but how do we celebrate AND LIVE God's "marching orders"
today and in the years to come?
Our purpose here is to help you to know
what we should do in response to Our Lady’s apparitions, since
they are even MORE important today so that the world will have God's peace,
as Our Lady promised during at least two of her Fatima apparitions.
Pope Benedict XVI assures us that the Message of Fatima is not yet
fulfilled, and much work remains through our Blessed Lord and Our Lady
to attain peace in our world:
Why did God permit Our Lady to even begin these apparitions?
- "We would be mistaken to think that Fatima’s prophetic mission is complete."
- "As for the new things which we can find in this message today, there is also the fact that attacks on the Pope and the Church come not only from without, but the sufferings of the Church come precisely from within the Church, from the sin existing within the Church. This too is something that we have always known, but today we are seeing it in a really terrifying way: that the greatest persecution of the Church comes not from her enemies without, but arises from sin within the Church, and that the Church thus has a deep need to relearn penance, to accept purification, to learn forgiveness on the one hand, but also the need for justice…."
