June – Call to Action – Fatima

Call to Action in response to Our Lady’s Second Apparition on June 13, 1917

Faith, Trust, Baptismal Promises, Determination, Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Cooperation

Every day, read and learn a few pages about the second apparition (note: page down to June) of Our Lady at Fatima on June 13, 1917.

Embrace the gift of faith (as the three children did) by choosing to:
- believe in God’s promises.
- trust in God’s timeless truths of the Catholic Faith.
Pray for the:
- determination to act upon God’s commands.
- discernment to act upon God’s promptings to you personally.
Keep the baptismal promises by:
- practicing the theological and cardinal virtues.
- cooperating with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
- learning more about each of these virtues and gifts, so that you can improve your practice and cooperation as needed.

Love and honor Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, as God desires. This includes permitting Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart to be our:
- refuge in our daily struggles.
- guide to God through devotion to Her Immaculate Heart. This devotion could include:
  - Total consecration to Jesus through Mary, preparation for which can be completed through one of several ways, including the beautiful:
    - preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary by St. Louis de Montfort (see here for further information about this process).
    - " 33 Days to Morning Glory".
  - Fulfilling the criteria to honor Our Lady on the First Five Saturdays (which God would request through Our Lady in a later Fatima apparition). Consult a helpful checklist, such as this one, for the criteria for these First-Saturday devotions.
Trust in God when He calls us to a painful challenge or one that we don’t fully understand. Ultimately, he will draw good from evil or show us, in other ways and in good time, how His plan will unfold for us in love if we trust Him.

Cooperate with God’s requests through Our Lady to:
- pray the rosary daily.
- express devotion to her Immaculate Heart (see #5 above).
- fulfill the criteria for the First Five Saturdays.
- offer unavoidable sufferings and frustrations in reparation for our own sins and the sins of others.
- tell everyone you know:
  - about the centenary of these apparitions (just as the witnesses did who were present for June apparition).
  - how important these apparitions are even today and in the years to come.

Our Lady of Fatima, please pray for us and for the success of our abilities to honor the centenary of your apparitions for our time and in every year to come.
